1. TEST YOUR SOIL
Those gardeners who have their soil tested are participating in a good gardening practice. Using soil analysis to develop a nutrient plan is showing good stewardship.
2. APPLYING PROPER NUTRIENTS ONLY WHAT IS NEEDED
The best practice for applying nutrients is to apply only the nutrients you need. 40% of gardeners apply more nutrients than their gardens need. Applying only the amount that is needed and no more than you need is good for you wallet and great for the environment.
3. REDUCE SYNTHETIC FERTILIZER
Reduce synthetic fertilizers. Whenever possible use organic or natural fertilizers like those provided by Dr. Cās Gardening products. These products are better for your plants and the environment.
4. START A COMPOST PILE
Starting a compost pile is one of the best practices for a gardener. It is a win win for you and your garden. You have a way of changing the waste from your yard, garden and kitchen into a valuable soil amendment for you plants
5. INCLUDE YOUR CHILDREN
One of the best garden practices is to include your children. It is important for children to be part of nature, to learn where and how food is produced and the gardening experience is a way of doing this.
